About Seven Feathers Yoga
"No one is wise by birth, for wisdom results from one own's efforts."
With a strong passion for sharing the power and teachings of yoga, Seven Feathers Yoga was cultivated by Shelley Dickerson in 2017. Shelley began practicing yoga in 2009 after a car accident which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. She was able to find treatment and solace through yoga and meditation. It all began with one instructor in 2008 that began calling her,"Yogi". Not too long after, Shelley was invited to join a Level 1 YogaFIt Teacher Training. Immersed in yogic teachings, philosophy, anatomy, and application right out of college, she had found her passion. From teaching classes on Tuesday mornings at a local church to instructing classes of 20+ in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
The journey of yoga brought Shelley to Denver, CO to continue to train, learn, and share her teachings in 2015. She began a Yoga for Veterans program at two local VFW posts, where all Veterans were welcome to join a donation-based beginner's yoga class. Shelley was known for offering private workshops in her home as a more welcome environment for a person or small group of people living with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. From teaching 10-15 mat yoga and aerial classes a week to teaching weekly at a private venue, Shelley remains instilled in the basic teachings of yoga. In her newest relocation to Oklahoma, Shelley is excited to begin working with private clients. May all beings be loved and at peace.
